Packaging and Labeling
Safety is crucial when it comes to hazardous waste. We use type-approved containers for infectious waste that are sealed tightly to prevent leakage. For liquid-based waste, absorbent materials are used in the containers. We strictly follow applicable rules and regulations for handling and labeling of hazardous waste according to ADR-S and the Waste Ordinance.
Clinical waste
Management of infectious waste from healthcare is regulated by SOSFS 2005:26. Waste that is or is considered to be contaminated with organic material from care or examination of people with known or clinically suspected disease is classified as clinical waste.
Examples of infectious waste
Waste contaminated with body fluids from a patient with known or suspected blood infection.
Infectious material as defined by a microbiology laboratory
Infectious biological waste and environmentally hazardous waste.
Packaging and labeling
Infectious waste must be collected in type-approved containers. The container must be sealed so that waste or infectious substances cannot leak out. If the container contains a lot of liquid, there must also be absorbent material in the container.

What is hazardous waste?
Hazardous waste includes anything that may be toxic, carcinogenic, corrosive, mutagenic, environmentally hazardous, infectious or flammable. In a household, this could include chemicals, paints, solvents, medicines and plant protection products.
During the pandemic, there has been an extra focus on COVID-19 contaminated waste. Sampling materials and protective equipment are classified as infectious waste. The Waste Ordinance applies to the limitation and disposal of waste as well as the construction and operation of waste management facilities.
This applies when handling corona-infected waste:
Corona-infected waste must be handled according to classification UN 3291
The container for the waste must be approved and have a tight seal
A transport declaration must be drawn up and a label with UN designation and sender must be drawn up when the container is sent for destruction
The waste, like all infectious waste, must be handled according to the Waste Ordinance's rules for hazardous waste and applicable legislation for dangerous goods
Corona-infected waste
We collect the waste generated in connection with covid-19 activities.
